Dorothy Procissi  saves Assisi from US bombing by being the only person available at the US State Department to send  the late night  cable ordering the bombing mission already underway to be aborted, by order of the President (1943?) .  We can all thank her for being able to see Assisi as it is today.  Thanks Aunt Dottie !   Tanti  Auguri da Assisi !
